Childbirth and Prenatal Education

Congratulations!

The birth of a baby is nothing more than a miraculous event. Providing you and your family with the knowledge, skills and confidence to give birth is the goal of our Prenatal Education Programs at Meadowview Regional Medical Center.

Becoming a parent, along with the process of labor and giving birth, can seem overwhelming for the first time.  Women and their families have the right to freedom of choice based on knowledge of alternatives, and most importantly, being fully informed of the risks and benefits of all aspects of care.

Weekend Childbirth Education Classes

In these classes we will review your baby's anatomy, stages of labor, medical interventions, pain control and relaxation and breathing techniques. The Weekend Classes also focus on newborn care, parenting and newborn rescue breathing.

Breast-Feeding Classes

These classes give families the basic knowledge and skills to begin feeding their babies the "best" food available for babies.

Sibling Class

Is an older sibling feeling left out during all of the preparations for the new baby? This class helps alleviate some of the fears, concerns and questions that soon-to-be brothers/sisters may have.

To register for any of these classes, please call 759-3459.
