Charity Bryant, RN awarded the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses
April 18, 2026
Meadowview Regional Medical Center (MRMC) is proud to announce Charity Bryant, RN, as the Spring 2026 recipient of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. This international recognition program celebrates the skillful, compassionate care that nurses provide to patients and their families every day.
Charity, a vital member of the Women’s Services team, was selected following a heartwarming nomination from a family she cared for. The nomination highlighted Charity’s clinical expertise and attention to detail: “Charity went above and beyond, especially with our baby. She discovered our son had a tongue tie and recommended a different bottle for feeding. We had a hard time at first, but after switching, feeding became ten times better. He went from struggling to eat 5ml to 30ml. We are so grateful for her noticing his tongue tie when we hadn’t yet caught it.”
“Charity Bryant is a true asset to our Women’s Services team,” said Jane Ritter, Market Chief Nursing Officer. “Her unwavering dedication to providing high-quality, patient-centered care and her commitment to nursing excellence make her an incredibly deserving recipient of the DAISY Award.”
Kelli Gross, Director of Women’s Services, added, “Charity has this incredible way of making every mom feel like they are the only patient in the building. Our team is so much better because she's part of it.”
Meadowview Regional Medical Center also wants to recognize the following nurses who were nominated for their excellence this season: Quay Cord, Jessica Banta, Audra Tucker, Jordyn Deaton, Kandy Turner, Maddie Henry, Katie Pedigo, Michelle McBride, Nathan Clark, Brandon Richardson, Ashley Bryant, Michelle Thomas, Katrina Hinton, and Rebecca Todd.
The DAISY Foundation was created in 1999 by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died at age 33 of complications of an auto-immune disease (hence the name, an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System.) Patrick received extraordinary care from his nurses, and his family felt compelled to express their profound gratitude for the compassion and skill nurses bring to patients and families every day. The DAISY Award celebrates nurses in over 4,000 healthcare facilities and schools of nursing around the world.
