Meadowview Regional Medical Center Opens Dedicated First Responders Lounge
June 19, 2026
In a continued effort to support frontline heroes, Meadowview Regional Medical Center is proud to announce the opening of its new First Responders Lounge within the Emergency Department.
Recognizing the demanding nature of emergency services, this new space is a rest area that will provide a space for much-needed breaks between transport and serve as a space for responders to complete electronic patient care reports and vital documentation. The lounge is stocked with a variety of snacks and drinks to ensure teams stay energized while on duty.
“Our first responders are the backbone of community safety and emergency care,” said Kathy Vancampen, CEO of Meadowview Regional Medical Center. “This new lounge represents our deep appreciation for their tireless service. By providing a dedicated space for them to rest and refuel, we hope to strengthen our partnership and support the well-being of those who care for our community every day.”
The lounge is strategically located to serve as a seamless bridge between field operations and hospital care.
“Our first responder partners are a vital extension of our hospital family,” said Lydia Tims, Emergency Department Director at Meadowview Regional Medical Center. “They work tirelessly on the front lines, and we want to ensure they have a welcoming environment to rest and catch up on work. This lounge is a small token of our gratitude for their incredible dedication to our patients and our community.”
The First Responders Lounge is now open 24/7, located conveniently within the Emergency Department to ensure personnel can easily transition back to their units when the next call comes in.
