Meadowview Regional Medical Center Names Jovanna Crank the 2026 Mercy Award Winner
July 01, 2026
Meadowview Regional Medical Center recently announced that Jovanna Crank, Pharmacy Technician, has been recognized as the facility’s 2026 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of Lifepoint Health’s facilities who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded.
Established in 2001, the Mercy Award is an annual recognition program that honors the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, Lifepoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a Lifepoint employee can receive.
“At Meadowview, our caring and compassionate team members are at the heart of advancing our mission of making communities healthier – and Jovanna Crank is a shining example of this day in and day out,” said Kathy Vancampen, CEO of Meadowview Regional Medical Center. “We are so proud to recognize her many contributions to caring for patients, supporting our hospital, and serving our community. I’m grateful for Jovanna’s positive influence and the example she sets for all of us.”
Her compassion truly knows no boundaries. We recently witnessed this when Jovanna answered a "wrong number" call from a distraught elderly woman confused about a life-critical, expensive medication. Rather than hanging up, Jovanna spent ten minutes taking notes, researched the specific pharmacy the woman needed, and followed up with a concrete plan. This stranger was not our patient, yet Jovanna treated her with the same urgency and care as if she were family.
This "all-in" mentality extends to her life outside the hospital. Whether she is coordinating back-to-school backpack giveaways, stocking community "Blessing Boxes" for the hungry, or providing transportation for church members, Jovanna ensures every task is completed with absolute integrity. She balances these community efforts while serving as a primary pillar of support for her aging parents and her sister’s family, ensuring her autistic nephew has the dedicated care he needs to thrive.
Each facility winner, including Jovanna, will be considered for Lifepoint’s 2026 companywide Mercy Award. The companywide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, Tenn., in September.
