Meadowview Regional Medical Center Honors Lisa White, RN and Sarah Simms Bingaman, LPN with DAISY Award

Maysville, KY (November 21, 2024) – Meadowview Regional Medical Center today announced that Lisa White, RN and Sarah Simms Bingaman, LPN have been recognized with The DAISY Award® For Extraordinary Nurses. The award is part of the DAISY Foundation's programs to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day.

Lisa and Sarah received multiple nominations.  Each nomination spoke of their kindness, attentiveness, and compassion. 

One daughter of a patient Lisa took care of stated “Lisa was my mother’s nurse.  From the moment she walked in I knew we were going to like her.  My mom had some personal questions and Lisa answered them like she was taking care of her own mother.  She sat down beside her on the bed and answered each question.  She went above and beyond to make sure my mom was taken care of and had everything she needed. She has been nothing short of extraordinary.  If you had 100 “Lisas” in this hospital, you wouldn’t have anything to worry about.  She’s the epitome of what a nurse should be.”

One nomination for Sarah stated “Sarah was so nice and helpful.  She explained the medical things they were doing.  Her professionalism was great.  Caring for her patients, showing compassion and understanding for all was like we haven’t experienced probably ever.  She is definitely an outstanding nurse.  She is someone who is hard to find.”

The not-for-profit DAISY Foundation is based in Glen Ellen, CA, and was established by family members in memory of J. Patrick Barnes.  Patrick died at the age of 33 in late 1999 from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), a little known but not uncommon auto-immune disease.  The care Patrick and his family received from nurses while he was ill inspired this unique means of thanking nurses for making a profound difference in the lives of their patients and patient families.
